This Christmas season, our Sunday School students and congregation came together in a beautiful demonstration of Christian love and generosity through our Giving Tree project. The Giving Tree aimed to support local families in need and exemplified the true spirit of Christmas giving.
Our Sunday School children took on a special role in this mission, carefully decorating ornaments for our Giving Tree. Each ornament represented a specific need or wish from two local families facing challenges this holiday season. Through the compassionate coordination of community member Becky Havelka, we were able to identify these families and their needs while maintaining their privacy and dignity.
Throughout the Advent season, ornaments were chosen off of the tree by congregation members and gifts began to pile up underneath it. The response from our congregation was nothing short of extraordinary. Every single ornament was chosen, and every wish fulfilled. From necessities to Christmas gifts for the children, the congregation demonstrated incredible generosity.
Gifts were wrapped and delivered to the families before Christmas Eve. Through your kindness, two families in our community experienced the joy and love of Christ this Christmas season. This project reminds us that when we come together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
May God bless you all for your kindness and generosity. As we move forward into the new year, let us continue to seek opportunities to serve our community and share God’s love with those around us.
“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
