History of Our Church
Immanuel Lutheran Church has been serving the Brownton community and surrounding areas since its founding in 1895. Originally established by six families of Lutheran faith, the church has grown and evolved over the years. Our current brick church building was constructed in 1923-1924, replacing the original wooden structure. Throughout our history, we’ve been committed to Christian education, offering Sunday School, confirmation classes, and even operating a parochial school for many years.
In 1959-1960, we added an Education Building to better serve our growing congregation. As a member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Immanuel has remained dedicated to sharing Christ’s love through word and deed for over 125 years, adapting to meet the needs of our community while staying true to our Lutheran heritage and Biblical teachings.
